Plain Talk is a program of the Public Health Management Corporation is a community-level, multi-component teen pregnancy and sexually transmitted infection prevention initiative.that is funded by Administration for Children and Families, Family Youth Services Bureau. Plain Talk has served the North Philadelphia community since 2010 and is funded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Administration for Children and Families. Plain Talk envisions community collaboration to help our youth build successful futures that start with responsible decisions about sexual behavior.
Our mission is to reduce rates of teen pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections (STIs) in 19122 and 19133 communities.
We achieve our mission by building community capacity to empowering young people and ensuring that:
• Every young person can openly communicate about sex and relationships with a knowledgeable, supportive adult.
• Every young person has hope for the future and motivation to avoid teen pregnancy and STIs.
• Every young person has the knowledge and skills to make healthy decisions about sex and relationships.
• Every young person has access to contraceptives and other reproductive and sexual health services.
